Cancer Detection Dogs

Next time you look at your dog/s and think about just how much they mean to you take a second look and wonder about what untapped potential may be there. For instance did you know that there are research institutes around the world who are taking pet dogs and training them in just a couple of weeks to detect various forms of cancer by smelling urine samples or the breath of humans?

Well they are and you can find out more by checking out (for a start):
or watch the video clips at http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=3483203 or through http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=dogs+detecting+cancer&hl=en&emb=0&aq=f#.

If want to see photos of dogs at work check out http://www.cancerdogs.org.uk/cancer-detection-dogs-at-work-play/.

Sit up and take notice if your dog or a friends dog starts licking at or paying particular attention to a point on your body and have it checked out - they've been known to identify skin cancers (some very very early) this way : )
